BCB Training
Barnsley Community Build (BCB) is a registered charity, it was incorporated in April 2001 and BCB Trading Ltd is the charities trading arm where 100% of any profit earned is gifted to the charity. They have developed a range of services to meet the increasing needs of people that are disadvantaged due to the fragile economic climate, education, social or domestic issues.
Training is delivered from BCB’s training centres at “Moorlands College” and from “Beechurst House”. Probado was commissioned to deliver IT Training suites to both sites. Steve Palmer, Operations Manager, commented “it was important that students could work from both sites, experience the same ‘look and feel’ and access their own data irrespective of location. Security of data was also a key consideration as was cost”.
Probado worked closely with Steve demonstrating how Microsoft Terminal Services could facilitate the solution. We chose a Fujitsu Server since at the time of purchase it offered best price performance, sourced refurbished Thin Clients and all software licences were sourced using the Microsoft donor program. This kept costs as low as possible whilst not jeopardising performance or reliability.
Following the success of the project BCB now employs Microsoft Terminal Services across all of its businesses and has seen performance improvements as a result of this move.
“We have a partner in Probado not just a supplier, they have delivered and are happy to go the extra mile to support our business”
BCB continues to expand its offering and the system continues to support their expansion. When asked for comment on Probado’s approach – Steve commented, “We have a partner in Probado not just a supplier, they have delivered and are happy to go the extra mile to support our business”.
